Corning

Optical fibers identifier device

Corning is an international company known for its patented “Gorilla Glass”, a strong, shatter resistance glass used on almost all cell phones and tablets. The company is also a leading manufacturer of optical fibers.

Lindenberg Industrial Design Studio has been asked to design an accessory to be used by technicians to help them identify rack installed, optical fibers.  The portable device allows the technician to obtain information about the infrastructure deployed on the site.

Work on the project involved design sketches, mechanical development, and mechanical designs for plastic injection processes. All this was completed in close cooperation and coordination with local and foreign teams and within strict and rigid design guidelines based on the parent company’s design guidelines and codes.
